It is a pioneering style of Muscadet wine. Made using a natural fermentation, with no filtration or fining and very little sulphur.  It is a pure as they come, with delicious melon and cucumber notes, as well as being full and complex with a touch of white pepper this wine is perfect for the Prosciutto Wrapped Haddock on Butter Bean Mash in a Green Herb Sauce.

Jane Ventura Blanc Seleccio, Xarel lo, Garnaxta Blanca, Macabeo, Malvasia. Penedes Spain. 2013

Made using the same grapes as Cava. This wine is reminiscent of a Chardonnay crossed between a Viognier. Grapes are selected from 13 different vineyards. This produces a wine that is really hard to identify. There are fragrant fruit and floral aromas entwined by very lively and pulpy white fruits, apples, and pears. There are hints of citrus oil and white flowers. This wine is splendid with the Grilled Long Red Peppers Stuffed with Feta & Black Beans in a Guacamole Sauce served with Tomato Rice and a Baby Watercress and Orange Salad.
£3.50 175ml glass/ £13.50 btl

Pithon Paille Anjou, Chenin Blanc. France 2011

Rich & complex Chenin Blanc from The Loire Valley. This is a mind blowing wine, tastes like an explosion of marmalade, almond, and creaminess, with zinger acidity.
The grapes are grown organically, and the wine made with minimal intervention, the wine is then oak aged for 18 months. Its acid gives it the ability to age for at least 15 years, but it already tastes incredible. Works with the lightly spiced parsnip soup with onion bhaji.
£4.50 175ml glass £16.00 btl

PTO for Reds!
Red

Aroa Garnacha Tinto D.O. Navarra, Spain. 2013

This wine which is made from Garnacha grapes is classified as a ‘natural wine’, meaning that the grapes are organically grown and a natural fermentation is used, followed by no fining, filtration, additions and minimal sulphur. The grapes are harvested from over 20 different vineyard plots, which creates incredible complexity. The result is a wine that is so pure and unadulterated it tastes like fresh fruit and vegetables. Notes of black fruits, beetroot and hedgerow, with a touch of chocolate. Elegant acidity and silky tannins with amazing length.

£4.50/ 175ml glass/ £16.00 btl

Ollieux Romanis Petit Fantet Hippolyte, The Tractor Wine. Languedoc and Rousillion France. 2012

After a carbonic maceration, Lo Petit Fantet's vinification is in cement without sulphur using indigenous yeast. This wine is mostly Carignan grape with some Grenache and a touch of Syrah.  It is a mouth full of soft fruit with hints from the Garrigue, with a beautiful freshness.  Cherry-red with violets glints Lo Petit has an intense nose with sweet raspberry and kirsch fruit, lovely balance despite its powerful alcohol and a herbal undertow. Try it chilled, serve at 14C and enjoy with all meals!  The label was drawn by Hippolyte Bories, the Vigneron's eight year old son depicting the hillside where the vines are grown.  C’est parfait avec les Brochette of Rabbit Loin with Agen Prunes, Smoked Bacon and Thyme served with a Lemon, Honey & Cider Sauce
